Does Prednisolone Cause Vomiting And Black Outs?

Question: A week ago today I had radio frequency done on my neck. On Thursday of last week I started taking prednisone 10 MG for a lower back problem. I was told by my Dr that I might have an upset stomach which I did including vomiting. Yesterday at 5am I passed out which I had never done before. By 10:15am I had passed out 5 times and vomited a large amount of blood. I have no real pain and I have not blacked out since yesterday am nor vomited. Could this have been caused by the steroid medication.

Rare side effects of prednisolone include vomit that looks like coffee grounds, vomiting of blood and coughing up blood. So your problem may be caused by prednisolone. Prednisolone is a steroid and steroids can cause irritation of the stomach lining and encourage acid production. That can cause the nausea and the vomiting.
