Question : I would like to know if any of the following prescription drugs can cause a false positive urinalysis for amphetemines or methamphetemines: Sumatriptan 50 mg; Imatrex, Ketorolac 60 mg; Metaocarbamol 750 mg; or Ibuprofen 400. I would also like to know if any of these over the counter drugs could show a false positive for the amphetemines or methamphetemines: Naproxin, Radidine; Centregin; or Zyrtec. Any assistance on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Dr XXXXXXX Solaki, Thank you for your response on this. I would like to request several other opinions. I had written once before and Dr Ivo Ditah stated that Sumatriptan, which is Imatrex, would cause a false positive for amph and meth. The results of these responses will weigh heavily on the this man's future. Again, any assistance on this will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Myra

I am sorry that I could not find any evidence suggesting sumatriptan causing false positive urine test for amphetamine.

For your information: Sumatriptan can cause false positive results for LSD.
