Brief Answer:
Yes simvastatin causes leg soreness, stop only if CPK levels are high

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

Simvastatins can cause these myalgias ( leg soreness) and may be irritating some times, If the CPK levels are not higher one can neglect it and treat the soreness with the tylenol or advil. if the soreness persists one can think of shifting the dose or changing the medications but more or less all lipid lowering agents specially statin analogs does that to some extent. Doctors weigh the pros and cons and then decide how to proceed.

Nutshell we stop only if CPK levels show up high which indicates muscle cell break down other wise we just treat leg soreness as a symptom with some acetaminophen.

Try some acetaminophen and some rest for the relief and if the problem persists talk to your doctor for changing the medication.

I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.
