Increase in blood pressure or increases in bilirubin levels are not recognized side effects of simvastatin. The most commonly reported side effects of simvastatin are muscle pains and elevated liver enzymes.

This would shed more light on what exactly is going on with the liver that may explain these bilirubin levels. Other causes should be investigated for this abnormalities as they are probably not associated with your drug.
