Question : Hi,
I have been on trazodone 100mg for 3weeks. I was in treatment for alcohol and ambien abuse for 30 days. I was given trazodone in treatment for sleep. It works but have noticed bone aches just recently. I am 56 years old. Could this be because of the trazodone?
Thanks,XXXX

Brief Answer:
Possibly due to Trazadone...

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.

I understand that you are concerned about the bone pains that you have been experiencing after being started on Trazadone. Now, Tarazadone is known to cause muscle or bone pains in a very small percentage of people as a side effect. This is not indicative of anything serious and usually tends to gradually subside withing a few weeks.

So, I would advise you to wait another 2 or 3 weeks and it will most likely subside. You can try hot fomentation or mild analgesic like Paracetamol for symptomatic relief. However, if it is causing you a lot of distress and you are unable to manage, then, I would advise you to report this to your doctor so that other alternative medication can be prescribed.

Wish you all the best.
