Question : does trintellix work for bipolar 2 depression? Or, what are good recommendations.......cymbalta? The Littium seems to be working but I am getting acne and this adds to my depression and feelings of self loathing.

Hello,

I follow many patients with bipolar 2 depression in my clinic.
I can say that Cymbalta is a preferred treatment for this diagnosis.
It works by restoring the balance of
serotonin in the brain.
It is a prescribed medication so you should consult your doctor before using it.

Trintellex in practice is used for an aggravated situation.
It is not preferred in daily basis because of gastrointestinal side effects like diarrhea or nausea.
So, to conclude, I would suggest Cymbalta.
It is always advisable to continue the medication in a low dose ad increase the dose gradually.
