Brief Answer:
Minimal risk reported

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX

Thanks for the query. Uloric or febuxostat has as a main common side effect changes in liver function, but there have been reports of both stroke and myocardial infarction in patients using this medication; these are quite rare, probably a lot less than 1% of cases. Again very very rare but not impossible and described. So if you have a strong personal cardiovascular history or several uncontrolled risk factors, I would shy away from it; otherwise, may consider careful initiation with your regular provider.

Hope this helps, wish you the best,

HOW DOES ULORIC AFFECT THE LIVER AND IS THIS DANGEROUS mY DOCTOR IS GOING TO CHECK MY LIVER WITH BLOOD TEST AFTER A MONTH hE WANTS ME TO TAKE THID MEDICINE BUT iM AFRAID OF IT
Can I take Asprin with ULORIC without side affects
doctor
Answered by Dr. Jorge Brenes-Salazar (5 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Should NOT take aspirin

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX

Great that you asked. Aspirin competes with uric acid to be excreted so you DONT want to take aspirin with your history of gout; the liver enzymes can be elevated after starting the medication, but if the change is minimal then it probably has no major consequence; I'm sure your doctor will order the appropiate blood work serially to ensure that you tolerate the medication.

Cheers
