Question : Hello Doctor!
I'm experiencing skin itching for quite sometime now. I take Hydroxyzine to relieve it. It also affects my scalp!i wonder if my BP Med. Valsartan or Red Yeast rice is causing it. Pls help.

Thanks for the query.
You might have developed urticaria.
It's an allergic reaction.
Any new drug or change in food or change in environment can be the cause.
Stop yeast rice and also discuss with your doctor to change your medication.
I treat such cases with tablet cetrizine daily in night for a week and local application of a mild steroid cream like desonide to be applied daily in night for a week.
This should relieve you.
