Question : We recently learned my husband has a mass in his lung and tests look suspicious for cancer. He is 87 years old and has had 2 open heart surgeries plus he is diabetic. What can you tell me about a mass in the lung?
Brief Answer:
Please give some more information.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for the query.
Can you please give some more information about how the mass was found? How large it is? Does he smoke and if yes for how long?
Generally mass in the lungs can be diagnosed with biopsy (what has been already done). If she had a CT and they say its suspicious, lung cancer is very probable. Especially if he also smokes.
But as long as you do not have biopsy result, everything is possible.
Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
