Does A Toddler Need A Booster Shot After A Cat Scratch When Anti-rabies Vaccine Was Administered 5 Weeks Ago?

My 22 months old daughter has a mysterious scratch and i suspect that it may be a cat scratch.. before 8 months, she had received four doses of anti rabies vaccine and before 5 weeks, a booster dose.. if it were a cat scratch, does she need a booster again? I checked with my pediatrician and she says it is not needed within a year and says it ll have side effects. She didnt have any side effects apart from fever during her primary immunisation and during booster.. can I overdo the doctor n get a shot? What would be repurcussions of overdose? I cant get this rabies out of my mind... consulted 3 to 4 doctors and none are agreeing for a booster.. Can it cause serious side effects in a baby... does a fever after a booster dose indicate increase in immuno titres..
There's no need of any additional booster dosage...
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Well, you yourself have answered your query already...There's no need of any additional booster dosage...Moreover, it was not even a confirmed cat scratch in the first place as you've already told, so just believe in your doctor and move on...
Fever is a very common and non-specific symptom which can be there after any type of vaccination/booster (it's not at all significant in this scenario)...
Please let's get one thing cleared, additional vaccination, booster dosage doesn't carry any additional benefits and mostly proven harmful to the body.
So, kindly refrain from any additional booster dose as several other Doctors have already advised you...
Some suggestions to overcome this Rabies-thought:
-Stop researching over the internet repeatedly
-Stop thinking about diseases and deviate the focus towards the productive things in life (eg. kid's education, future schooling etc)
-Try to take your mind off by engaging into family/friends get-together, go out, have fun, keep yourself engaged
Take Care
Kind Regards
