Question: hello doctors,

I am a male and had one question if I were to shave my genitals and have a possible small cut from the razor that is not bleeding, then have intercourse would that cause me to contract something?

As you stated that there was a cut in genital area but did not bleed. Yes definitely you may be at higher risk than normal individuals of contracting STD and HIV if sexual intercourse with a person having disease. It may be a small cut with no obvious bleed but definitely there is breach in integrity of skin and mucosa. There is no need for treatment. Just Keep genital area clean and practice barrier methods during intercourse.

If you are in a monogamous relationship with your partner then in that case there is no risk of any disease if your partner has no disease. No need for any investigations.
