Brief Answer:
Abstinence form masturbation wont result in loss of erection

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

Having a healthy libido is a sign of overall good health. Masturbation is a normal activity. Some do it less, others more. Its a matter of personal preference. Altering the frequency of masturbation as you mentioned by abstaining will have no effect on your ability to achieve an erection. In fact abstinence for a few days will most likely lead to more frequent erections , if there is no underlying erectile dysfunction.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks

Please consult your doctor before deciding on any further course of action.

Brief Answer:
Workup to determine cause of E.D

Detailed Answer:
Hello again

Erectile dysfunction is most commonly due to performance anxiety. Sex therapy is a method of counseling which helps you , minimize or get rid of performance anxiety. Stop and start , squeeze methods can be explained in these sessions which are techniques that can be of help in E.D. Smoking and excess alcohol should be avoided. Diabetes, Hypertension, Neurologic disease and vascular issues should be screened for. A Doppler Ultrasound of penis can be useful to look for any vascular compromise if present. Sildenafil for erectile dysfunction may be prescribed after consultation and due workup with your doctor.

Let me know if you have any query.

Thanks.

Brief Answer:
At age 22, its unlikely due to complications of diabetes and hypertension

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

A sex counselor or therapist should be consulted after an organic cause is ruled out. Both Hypertension and diabetes can lead to E.D over long term. Since you are quite young, I doubt whether its due to diabetes or hypertension. If appropriate , Could you state what medications you are currently taking along with their dose. You may upload the blood test results that were advised before taking the medication, including the fasting blood sugar and HBA1C , if available.

Thanks.
