Does Alcohol Consumption Have Any Beneficial Effect?

default
Posted on Tue, 27 May 2014
Question: I, want to know: if in the course of events in a person's life, they had some trouble associated with alcohol that resulted in them having to check into it and about it and they were evaluated and ranked as having no substance disorder, is it better not to drink any alcohol and is it generally better to not drink alcohol or what is your opinion on that?
Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Has longterm ill effects and harmful to health

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear. Thanks for giving me an opportunity for addressing your query.

Alcohol is one of the substance that causes abuse though it is often presumed to be a pick me up drink.Excessive drinking is harmful since it leads to alcoholism (substance disorder) though not seen with mild to moderate bouts of drink.

Alcohol actually depresses the brain. It lessens your inhibitions, slurs speech, and decreases muscle control and coordination. It is no longer considered to have beneficial effect; even mild to moderate drinking is proven to have ill effects on the health especially in the presence of other comorbidities(high blood prssure, diabetes etc.).It increases blood cholesterol levels, blood pressures & chronic alcoholic causes sustained liver damage starting from fat deposition (fatty liver) to hardening/shrinking of the liver(cirrhosis).

Hence i were not to recommend it for any of patients and would always appreciate if they would live without it.

Hope this answers your query.
