Posted on Sat, 4 Oct 2014
Question: I drank fresh carrot juice yesterday for lunch, when I passed a bowl it seemed like a redish orangish color, and this afternoon 24 hours later my bowl is still that color. could it be blood or could it be due to the carrot juice?

Brief Answer:
It's the carrots!

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
of course I could not tell for sure whether it's blood or not but it is common knowledge in medicine that excessive carrot consumption can cause orange discoloration of both the urine and the stool. Do not expect that if you eat a single carrot. It needs much more than that.
It can be alarming if you have symptoms. Drinking carrot juice is not supposed to cause symptoms. Symptoms of particular interest include cold sweats, symptoms of faintness, pain anywhere etc
If you have none then you can stop worrying. As soon as the carrot ingredients leave your body the color will get back to normal!
I believe your question has been answered.
If you need me to clarify anything, I'll be glad to do so!
Kind Regards!
