Question: why you should not have water immediately after lunch or dinner ? does this cause indigestion and leads to obesity

Yes it is better to sip and not drink water

Detailed Answer:
It is best to drink fluids before and two hours after meals as this helps in absorption of nutrients. This is because as the food concentrate settle in the stomach, the right amount of stomach juices are secreted, if you drink water this amount of juice is inadequate to digest and absorb the nutrients. Also this habit cause a surge in your insulin levels, almost like the way high glycemic food would affect you. More insulin flows and converts to fat in the body.

Thereby it can cause acid reflux, malnutrition, obesity as mentioned by you.
