Brief Answer:
Slight effect on high blood pressure

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to HCM. Thank you for your question. I understand your query.

Well, there are some small reports that these dietary changes may affect the blood pressure figures. There are other dietary and lifestyle changes that affect more effectively the blood pressure.

First of all, it should be mentioned that psychological stress is a major factor that raises the blood pressure figures. Changes I would recommend you are as follows:

- 60-minute physical activity a day, such as walking, jogging, swimming, biking etc.
- withhold salt or use it in minor amounts
- consume green leafy vegetables and fruit up to 300 g a day
- use the read meat maximum once a week, switch to chicken or other poultry and fish
- reduce alcohol up to one glass of wine or one shot of heavy drink, in one day (up to 30 g ethanol)

If even with these changes, made for one month, your blood pressure remains higher than 140/90 mmHg, then anti-hypertensive medication is indicated.

I hope my answer is helpful. I am happy to help, if you have follow-up questions.

Best regards,
Dr. Meriton
