Fish oils are helpful in dry flaky skin but to some extent only.
You need to go for liberal and frequent application of moisturising lotions, use soap free cleansers for bathing, use lukewarm water for bathing instead of hot water, avoid heaters, stay away from cold dry winds and avoid direct contact of woollen clothes with the body.
These measures will help in reducing dryness, itching and rough skin.
