Question: I have to get up several times a night to go to the restroom. At least 3 my GP says just don't drink anything after 8 pm but it doesn't work. Is there anything I can take to resolve this or what type of Doctor should I go see?

Brief Answer:
Need to consult qualified Urologist

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for query .

Based on the facts that you have posted nocturnal frequency for urination (Nocturia) That you have is due to what is called as senile urethral stenosis associated reduced bladder capacity that is common at this age in elderly females .

Consult qualified Urologist for clinical and digital rectal examination and get following basic tests done to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Urine routine and culture.
2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis
3) Endoscopic examination of bladder (Cystoscopy)

Taking anti cholenergic drug like Darifenacin once daily will help to reduce nocturia .
Further treatment will depend upon result of these tests and final diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.
