Question : Hi, My 30 year old daughter who is 5'2", 100 lbs, is active and works out, has a high pulse rate of 100 - 105 during normal daily activity. her blood pressure is on the normal/low side. She is not anemic and thyroid is normal. Her internal med doctor is not concerned. I don't think that is right. I think she should have a cardiology consult at least. Doesn't seem like a healthy 30 year old should have a pulse rate that high.
thanks
                            thanks
                                    Brief Answer:
Your doctor is right.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Welcome to HCM forum.
I have gone through your query in detail, and understand your concern.
There is nothing to worry in this.
Pulse rate is counted in the resting stage, and normal values varies from 60 to 100(in some textbooks it is 65-110). Tachycardia is defined as a PR>100-110 in the RESTING stage.
So a PR of 100-105(that too during daily activities) is nothing to be worried.
Be confident. You can believe your doctor, and no further evaluation is needed for this alone.
Hope I have answered your query.
Please be free to ask further questions if any.
Wishing for good health.
Thank you.
