Question : Sure, ? Regarding air emboli in the lung(s) while diving &/or rising too fast. Is it likely the diver would survive after time in hyperbaric?
Brief Answer:
Survival depends on multitude of factors in Air embolism
Detailed Answer:
Hello, Madam
I can certainly understand your concern.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is an effective treatment for embolic states.
Air embolism has to be ,managed effectively and very early.
The survival depends on the size and location of the embolus.
Bigger emboli at the central major vessels will have poorer survival rates in spite of hyperbaric therapy.
Coexisting lung disease will also worsen the outcome.
Post your further queries if any.
Thank you.
