Brief Answer:
It is appropriate drug to treat herpes

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Welcome to HCM
Herpes can be diagnosed based on the physical examination and treatment can be given based on this. Lab work is not always required.

No need to worry about the Acyclovir. It is antiviral agent and right drug for herpes. It will take care of the Herpes simplex.

To comment on his status, I have to examine him, without examination it is not possible to diagnose herpes.

Hope this helps.
Take care
