Question: I have tortuous carotid arteries and am terrified of getting a stroke. My PCP has prescribed 10 mg of Lipitor & 81 mg of aspirin per day. Is there anything else I can do to prevent a stroke?

Brief Answer:
take aspirin 100 and avoid risk factors

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
You should take aspirin 100, reduce smoking, regulate blood sugar and blood lipids and regulate body mass. Tortuos artery is not significant risk for stroke for itself but if there are atherosclerotic plaques then it may be. If you start to have neurologic symptoms you should consider surgery for carotid artery.
