Question: For kind review by Dr (Prof) XXXXXXX Saha
Respectedc Sir,
My husband had come to close contact of my eldest sister who was caught by Chicken Pox and her condition was very serious( 19/03/2016 to 11/04/16). After some days, my son have had the same disease and immediately he was given Tab Acyclovir 800mg for 5 days and Calamine body lotion as per doctor's advice. His intensity and duration of the disease were controlled within a week(04/04/16 to 12/04/16). Afterwards my husband was feeling body pain, weakness, feverish(no high temperature), fatigue, throat pain with swallowing difficulty for of couple days. Then one midnight while sleeping, he had felt severe itching in the anus and annul area and he had rubbed sub-consciously.
(a) After then some 5 to 6 red bumps & blisters were seen but no eruption or fluid filled vesicle and he immediately visited doctors(Physician & Dermatologist) . Doctors had ruled out Chicken pox. Prescribed Calamine Body lotion, Tab Cetrizen and Tab Amoxycilin 500. He was taking Tab Cetrizen ODHS and applying Calamine body lotion twice daily but did not take the antibiotic.
(b) Gradually initial red patches/blisters have gone but red bumps started to grow afresh. Initially in the hands/arms and then almost whole abdomen and hands. Now it is thickly and densely covering the hands, belly and back. One or two has started in the lower limbs also. He has also stuffy and closed nose with throat pain and swallowing difficulty for last more than 10 days.
He is applying only calamine body lotion and taking Tab Cetrizen ODHS. I feel it is serious. I have forwarded you 2 prescriptions and some skin pictures. Please review his condition and advice/guide me suitably.

I have already forwarded two prescriptions and some skin pictures via E-mail.

Brief Answer:
Should be back to normal in a week. Please be patient.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I had a discussion with your husband earlier and hence am aware of some of the preceding events. Anyway, as of now application of calamine lotion and taking cetirizine once daily is all that he needs to do. You need not panic. It is probably a viral infection and should be ok in a week or so.

Feel free to revert back in case you have any further queries.

Regards

Respected Sir,

Once again I am sorry to disturb you. My husband's condition has not improved at all. Interior side of the hands and upper part of the body(abdomen & back) are densely covered by red and itchy bumps. I had sent him to one local skin specialist again in the evening today accompanied by my elder brother. Doctor's prescription is attached herewith. He is not ready to take any other medicine except Cetrizine Tab and Calamine body lotion.

Kindly check once again and advice me please.
Thanking you with regards.
