Does Intake Of Curam And Voltaren Help In Curing Acute Tonsillitis?

Question: Dear Dr

i was suffering with acute Tonsills since 1 week but still no progress my doctor has recommended Curum 1 g and voltaren 50 mg i am using but no result still same.
kindly any advice

I have gone through your query.

Acute tonsillitis is frequently viral in nature, so only symptomatic treatment will suffice. It is usually self limiting and will subside by 7 to 10 days.
Presently what symptoms you have?
As you have been on antibiotic kindly finish the course.

Presently I would suggest you to take the prescribed medicines along with that avoid cold drinks, cold water, ice cream, smoking and alcohol drinking if you have and long stay in air-conditioning room. Hexidine plus hydrogen peroxide mouth gargles two times a day. Kindly follow this measure for few days you should be fine.

If in case symptoms won't subside or severity increase, I would have suggested you that you go for throat swab culture and antibiotic sensitivity and the treatment according to the report.

thanks for your reply and feedback yesterday i consulted ENT specialist he add 1 more medicine pfizer Zithromax 250 mg is it suitable

i have also pain in my neck some time it increase and even in my right ear and cough and i feel that my neck is been blocked theses are the symptoms i have been facing till now

Sorry for the late reply.
Kindly take the prescribed medication, it will be beneficial.
The symptoms mentioned by you do occur with tonsillitis. It will subside with the medication mentioned. Apart from the medication mentioned, follow the measures suggested in the previous post and also do steam inhalation, with few drops eucalyptus oil in it. It will be beneficial for you neck and ear pain.
