not really, metformin does not affect hair directly.

Dear XXXX, hi welcome to hcm.
Metformin is given in t2dm, weight loss, pcod and is not directly related to hair loss. it is given to the tune of 2.5 gm per day. so 500 mg is 1/5th dose actually. we have not seen such side effect even at maximally tolerated dose.

I suffer from adenomyosis and became anemic from the bleeding. The bleeding is under control but will take 3 months to recover from the anemia from blood loss. Can I still take metformin?

metformin can be taken along with vitamin b12.

Dear ma'm, hi! as we discussed metformin is a relatively safe drug. you can take metformin along with vitamin b12 to avoid anemia, though in low doses , as you are on 500 mg only, even that is not required.
