Does Intake Of Milk Thistle Help In Curing Mild Fatty Liver Disease?

Question: Hi, I am taking Crrestor 20mg and Olmetec 20mg and low dose asprin. I have a 'minor fatty liver' diagnosis, can you advise what Liver Tonics I can take as I beleive some herbs like Milk thistle are contraindicated

Another question please, I was put on Ramapril 25mg blood pressure medication October 2014 and alsmost immediately started severe coughing and bad sinus drip, after 4-5 months of complaining and wrong treatment ideas I asked them to change medication as I heard a small percentage of people had a reaction to it. As soon as the Ramapril was ceased and changed to Olmotec the endless coughing stopped - thank God. However the sinus problem has not and often my post nasal drip is never ending. could the Olmotec also be causing this and if so what can it be changed to before I go crazy!! this has been ongoing all last year.
thanks

Brief Answer:
Olmetec may cause.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to HCM.

1) Here, I would like to say that mild fatty liver is not alarming finding. It indicates fatty tissue deposition on the liver,so I wouldn't be personally worried about this finding.

Since you have asked about some liver tonic,I can recommend to use syrup Liv 52-DS (from Himalaya) which may be helpful. You may check whether it is available in your country.

2) Olmetec (Olmisartan) can some times cause allergic rhinitis or sinusitis in some individuals, your sinus or post-nasal drip could be related to this.

However,it could also be related to allergic to some particular substance like dust, grass, pollen in an external environment,so you may check your self whether your sinus and post-nasal drip problem started with your olmetec medication or not.

And if it is so then it would be better to change the anti-hypertensive medication is this problem has become troublesome now.

If I would have your treating doctor, then I would suggest for a Amlodipine 5 mg,a calcium channel blocker after complete clinical examination if it is suitable for you.

Your treating doctor will decide whether to change the medication or not,and if needed then Amlodipine is suitable for your profile.

Hope this helps.
