Question : will SAM-e or maizinol by Puritan Pride do any damage to my kidneys? YYYY@YYYY

Brief answer....Available literature doesn't state any kidney effect of these products.
Detailed answer.... XXXXXXX e as well as MAIZINOL are dietary supplements and are used for various conditions like osteoarthritis,depression,dementia etc.
Side effects of XXXXXXX e include gastric symptoms like vomiting,diarrheas,dry moth,mild insomnia,sometimes depression etc.
MAIZINOL is a low cost alternative to XXXXXXX e with much less gastric side effects.

Although available medical literature of both of these compounds doesn't state any effect on kidneys but considering the fact that your e GFR is low,it is very important for you to consult your treating doctor and take his permission for using these products.
