Does Marijuana Cause Erectile Dysfunction?

default
Posted on Fri, 13 Mar 2015
Question: I am 18 years old I've had sex with over 15 women but recently I have had problems maintaining or even getting an erection during sex. I have no current allergies and I am in decent shape. I am worried that I may either have some sort of STD that has caused erectile dysfunction or my excessive marijuana habits. If you could give me any insight on to what my scenario is I would love to get some hear back thank you. My marijuana backgroun is I have probably smoked for two years with little to no breaks.

Brief Answer:
Marijuana is a strong reason.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
What you describe sounds like erectile dysfunction for sure.
If you had some kind of STD, you would manifestly show some other symptoms - discharge, pain, burning, foul smell, tenderness, pain during sex etc.
Chronic marijuana use for sure, can contribute to ED ( erectile dysfunction ).
Please go through this link , it clearly states this -

Also, you need to consult a Urologist / XXXXXXX to rule out the other factors - by a physical exam, blood tests, scrotal ultrasound etc.
I think the reason is the marijuana, and if you could quit, that would be best.
All the best

Thanks this is very helpful I have already taking a break from a marijuana so hopefully that will give some good results. The thing is though a lot of my friends smoke just the same quantity of marijuana as I do but do not have the side effects I'm experiencing

Brief Answer:
Different people have different responses

Detailed Answer:
Hi again.
Not everybody is the same, right ?
We all respond differently to exercise, diet, drugs.
Maybe you are more sensitive.
All the more reason to stay away from the marijuana !
Take care.
