Question : Hey my friend is undergoing an early medical abortion. Conception was 4-5 weeks ago and she has taken her first set of pills and is due to take the next and final set tomorrow. She had been smoking small amounts of marijuana regularly for the last few years but stopped a few days ago. Is it ok for her to smoke a bit at this stage? It would certainly help lowering her stress and pain levels.

Brief Answer: avoid marijuana completely Detailed Answer: Hello sir, marijuana intake should be avoided by her at any cost because it will affect tone and vitality of her uterus and at the same time it affects future fertility and sexuality because of effects on - sperm capacitation in female genital tract and - quality of egg. So in my opinion she should best avoid it and rather take pain killers to combat the pain due to abortion. My all sympathies with her as I know its difficult to live through the process of abortion but it is in her future benefit only. Take Care.
