Posted on Mon, 3 Jul 2017
Question: Hi, Greetings! I have been married since a year. we are planning to have kids 2-3 years down the line. We use condoms currently to prevent pregnancy. I used to masturbate a lot in his past(at the age of 25-28). Currently we have sex once or twice a week and i ejaculate in less than a minute. Will that be any problem to us in future to have kids after 2-3 years? are there any steps we need to follow to longer the ejaculation time?

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

Regarding the ability to impregnate a women the duration of sex does not have any effect as explained earlier.

In addition I also like to make it clear that masturbation is generally harmless process and do not cause any side effects.

Ejaculating within one minute of intercourse called as premature ejaculation.

Premature ejaculation can be treated or controlled with the help of behavioral methods and the medications.
The behavioral techniques need to be practiced during sex and yield results over a time. Even you can assist in some of the techniques like squeeze technique.

The other techniques are
1. Kegel technique
2. Start- stop method
3. Interruption technique

He can choose any of them if they suit him.

Premature ejaculation can also be controlled by medications.

SSRI antidepressant drugs cause delayed ejaculation as a side effect, and this side effect is used therapeutically in the treatment of premature ejaculation. These drugs are as following:
Tablet. Paroxetine
Tablet. Fluoxetine
Tablet. Sertraline .

A person with premature ejaculation need to take any of these drugs regularly and its effect will appear only after 15 to 20 days.

Another strategy is to take drug one hour before sex. The another antidepressant drug dapoxetine is given one hour before sex and it cause delayed ejaculation.

I hope this answers your question.

Will there be any side effects of using dapoxetine. Should we use it regularly or only when required? How frequently can we use it? How safe is it to use dapoxetine. Will there be any side effects for using it?

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for follow up.

Dapoxetine is largely safe medication and not associated with an serious side effects. It is on need medication and can be used every day if required. The effect of medication lasts around 6- 8 hours to cover full night so there is no need to repeat it before next day.
For having sex once or twice a week dapoxetine is better option.

In case there is more frequency per week, medication such as paroxetine can be used on regular basis. The side effects are not much different from any regular medication and it can be expected that you as well as your husband will have no side effects other than the rare headache, nausea and vomiting.

I also like to make it clear that it is prescription only medication and should be used only under the supervision of your doctor.

I hope this answers you further.
Thanks and regards.
