Does Metrogyl 200 Reduce Watery Stools, Burning Sensation While Passing The Stool ?
Question: Sir my 6 year old complains of pain near the navel area, has watery stools, burning sensation while passing the stool and vomitted twice today. I have given him metrogyl 200 thrice daily and oflox oz syrup twice daily but it is not helping. Today I gave him enterogermina and junior lanzol and ondem tablet MD for vomitting once

Hello dear,
Thank you for posting to us and I understand your concern
This probably indicate food poisoning
You can continue giving enterogermina (once daily for 5 days) and Ondem (twice daily for 2 days-1 hour before food)
Instead of Metrogyl and Oflox oz, I would prefer CEFIXIME SUSPENSION(100MG/5ML) 5ml twice daily for 5 days.
Give Paracetamol suspension(250mg/5ml) 5ml thrice daily for 3 yeah days- this will relieve both abdominal pain and fever if any.
Also give ORS solution after each stools to avoid dehydration
It will take 3-5 days for loose stools to settle. Vomiting and abdominal pain should come down two days. If he is active and playful, we need not worry. Some anorexia can be there- do not force feed; give small frequent diet. Avoid fruits and sugary items for 5 days
He will be fine in 3-4 days, no need to worry.
If not getting better in 5 days or if he is feeling very tired/lethargic, kindly take him to pediatrician.
