Posted on Mon, 7 Apr 2014
Question: I have had an issue with all my major muscles aching and all doctors are stumped because all test do not show anything as well as a muscle biopsy. My legs and now my knees are being impacted dramatically to the point of not being able to stand for long and walking long distances. Anyway, I also have OSA and I am overweight. I woke up a few times this morning with my entire body flexed. My question is whether it is possible that my sleep apnea is causing me to flew my muscles so many times in the evening that I feel the affects afterwards during the day. Been tested for RA - negative, Thyroid - Niormal, Testosterone - Normal, Type 2 Diabetes diagnosed during this adventure. White Hispanic Male, 52 years old, 5'10" and 290 lbs.

Originally, most of the docs thought that it was Fibromyalgia but all the specialists that I have met such as a Rheumatologist, Internal Med and GP have stated that it has some similarities to fibromyalgia but does not appear to be this. I have shorting pain down my thighs and other muscles in extremities. I get cramps on them with soreness and pain. I now have to use something to support myself when I get out of bed and chairs but pain at 8 or 9 until my muscles adjust to be able to walk. I limp almost all the time now and also need to pull myself up the stairs to got to bed. I am taking Neurontin 400mg 4/day with no relief. I did not want the anti-depressants but I have been given all other meds for that condition and I have also taken some of the vitamins and minerals suggested at websites with no effect at all.

I will pass this information to my GP to pass to my Internal Med doctor for additional tests if necessary to confirm this situation. I did some investigating on this condition and it is possible but not sure it meets all the criteria but I will leave this to my medical team.
