Does Overdosed Crocin Have Any Side Effects?

Question: Hi doctor My baby is two and half month old...she had fever three days back post vaccination so I gave her crocin drops..she is 5kg.......so I give her 10 drops.....following vaccination and once in the night and once in the early morning...next day. I gave her drops once. At afternoon and again in the evening but by mistake I gave her 2.5ml...of crocin instead of 10drops will anything happen to my baby.....next two days she is fine

Brief Answer: nothing to worry Detailed Answer: Hi Thanks for writing to health care magic. Don't worry. Crocin is paracetamol. You have given 2.5ml drops that is 250mg which is triple the dose she needs. But paracetamol is toxic only if the total daily dose is more. In your baby's case, total dose received is well within safe limits. Just avoid paracetamol for next few days and do sponging only for fever. Wishing your baby good health. Regards Dr Arun

Thank u doc.....but in morning also she had Cronin drops ten drops in early morning and another one around 2:30pm 10 drops(50 mg) and third one around 7:00 pm that is 2.5ml(250mg)is it fine then? ...so total dose is around 350mg ...she is 5kg is it ok? Is it within the limit? ..cont and also Iam giving her Oro Vit,OH D3, and peri norm,motinorm,rantac syrup(as she is puking badly) can I continue with these ...all these was prescribed by doc last week.....

Baby is not sleepin at night...she is much disturbed...but during day time she is sleeping ....sheisboth on breast milk and formula.....due to insufficient milk supply for me......she is extremely regurgitating..it comes as bothmilk and curd consistency Today she didn't drink much milk she is crying badly...I gave her colic aid...and also continuing rantac peri norm and motinorm......regurgitating often at least 4 times after each feed.....why is it so.....And now I try to feed her she is not drinking she is just crying.....after which I gave her colic aid and made her to sleep now....if some one is carrying she is quiet...But if we drop her down she's crying .....is it bcoz of crocin overdosage.....but b4 also she used to regurgitate

Brief Answer: could be colic induced Detailed Answer: Hi Thanks for writing to health care magic. Regurgitation with weight gain is no need for concern. Almost all babies regurgitate regularly, in small amounts. It could be because of air in the stomach which comes out along with burp or because of colic pain. It's not because of crocin overdose. I will suggest A) proper burping after each feed by patting his back atleast for 15 minutes. B) colic aid can be given regularly for 5 days to see if it decreases the regurgitation.
