Question : I passed a tiny 1/2 inch long black "creature" in my urine - as thin as the smallest toothpick - with a thread-like tail. No movement - so it had to be dead. Can that be a sign of a parasite infection? (There seems to be no information available anywhere relative to parasites flushing out in urine.)

Brief Answer:
Not due to parasitic infection.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through your query carefully and understand your concerns. I am quite certain that what you are describing is actually a 'cast' formed by the deposit of something.

As you probably know, there are tubes originating from the kidneys and draining into the bladder.

Furthermore, a tube also originates from the bladder and acts as the outlet of the urine. Impaction of anything in these spaces will, therefore, give a filamentous structure which can seem like a 'creature'.

It is not a cause for concern and does not indicate a parasitic infection. It only indicates that you need to drink plenty of water.

Let me know if I could help further.

Regards

May I ask a follow-up question?

Information on urinary casts indicate that they are microscopic. This "body" measured 1/2 inch - plus thread tail. Is your response still the same?

Thank you very much

Brief Answer:
Could you please upload an image of the same?

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back,

The casts are microscopic but together they can clump together and take the shape of something.

My response about the 'creature' is still the same. However, by any chance did you capture an image of the same? It will help in confirmation.

Awaiting...

Regards
