Question : I had a really bad virus recently. While I had this virus, my urine had a cloudy colour. A test showed blood in the urine. I had an ultra sound of my kidneys and bladder. The ultra sound shoed no problem. I had exactly ther same thing about 10 years ago; BAD virus, cloudy urine, and an ultra sound on kidneys and bladder that showed no problem. Both times, the problems went away and the urine was OK. I am wondering is prolonged use of panadol might cause cloudy urine?

Brief Answer:
NO!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this cloudy urine and all the inconveniences this has caused you. This is not possibly caused by prolonged use of Panadol. I am not sure this is represents a disease condition because of the transient nature and absence of any other findings on laboratory exams to support a possible kidney infection or disorder. I will suggest that you drink much water to enable cleansing of the urinary passages and especially when there is a change in the color of urine. Otherwise, I will not recommend any aggressive testing at this time unless there are symptoms such as abdominal pain, bloody urine, frequent urination, etc. that might push me to think otherwise.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
