                                            Question : I am 12 weeks pregnant. My hemoglobin level reduced from 9.85 to 8.9 this week. Doctor has prescribed Orofer tablets. But after taking it after dinner fir last two days i am not able to eat anything and have continuous pain in upper abdomen and severe gastric problem and also diarrhea.. Wat to do to increase my hemoglobin level

Iron preparations can cause gastric upset.
Iron oral suspensions can cause less gastric issues as compared to iron tablets.
you can substitute tablet with suspension.
Also increase iron containing foods in your diet like green leafy vegetables and jaggery, fruits like pomegranate and raisins, oats, soyabean, potatoes and tofu cheese.
You can take citrus fruits like orange and lemon along with iron preparations. This will increase iron aborption.
Avoid caffeinated drinks as these decrease iron absorption.
