Question : would a person who has a pulmonary lung condition develope lung cancer from the desease?

probability of lung cancer is increased

Even though direct causal relationship has not been established, many studies have shown that risks of lung cancer are increased in people with restrictive lung disease.

This is even more pronounced if the lung disease is occupational as in asbestosis.

Regular screening may help in early detection in this group of patients.
