Question: well i had a ultra sound done, they found I have a fatty Liver, my blood glucose fasting was 161, and cholestral was 307, which that has come down, but I don't think that is what is still causing my pain on the left side rib, they checked my kidneys were are okay, had that sharp pain again last night, I'm beginning to think I might have possibily pulled a muscle, was put on 500mg of Metformin twice daily, they said rest of blood work was okay, what is your opinion?

Brief Answer:
Hello. Yes it can be a muscle pull

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear. You are right. As liver is on the right side, it cannot explain a pain on left side of chest.
Fatty liver will return to.normal with dietary restrictions, exercises and metformin.
Still i believe, you have either a muscle pull or enthesitis qhich is difficult to pick on any xray or ultrasound.
Take some analgesics and you will be alright.
Thanks and regards
