Brief Answer:
Chronic smoking can contribute to ED.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist,i can understand your concern.

Smoking does contribute to erectile dysfunction.(ED).
If you've been a heavy smoker,it's best to reduce and finally stop smoking.
If you're having ED,then you should get evaluated for ED.
Yes,certain smokers do have normal sex. But in the long run,it can cause ED.

For ED,the tests to be done are :
1. blood routine,RBS,LFT,creatinine,platelets.
2. VDRL, HbsAg,and HiV,if you've had sex with multiple partners.
3. Penile doppler ultrasound scan.

According to the reports,i can give you an expert opinion.
Try to stop smoking as soon as possible.
Exercising daily for about an hour helps greatly.
Wish you well.

I actually had an erection test and they told me i have ED with unspecific reasons. What kind of diagnose is that? So what should I do???
Also, if nicotine constricting the blood vessles is the problem, isn't it easy to have good sex as simple as not smoking for about 6 hours before having sex?

Brief Answer:
Penile vascular changes are of chronic nature.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX,

If you could send the penile doppler scan report,it would be easier to opine.
ED with unspecific reason is difficult to comment on.!!

Stopping smoking for 6 hours before sex, won't help.
The reason is that the penile vascular changes due to smoking, don't occur in a day.
It's a chronic change, due to smoking over a certain duration.
Nicotine smokers face the same changes.
Hope you're clear about that.

Wish you well.
