Does Soreness Between Inner Calf And Tibia Muscles Indicate Tibialus?

default
Posted on Wed, 27 Sep 2017
Question: I asked a previous question about a pulled tendon or muscle in my lower leg, but had no follow up questions left.
So, ill ask again.
I moved my sons new large bed by myself without help about a week ago. I moved it from the store and into my truck and then from the truck to the house into his room without help.
The next day i noticed my leg along where my shin is located but on the inner side, between my inner calf and my tibia was sore on my left leg.
What i read online and from the pictures i saw it seemed to fit tibialus.
I had no swelling and no rednes or hot feeling in the area. It also didnt interfere with my walking.
Today i still notice soreness but it continues to be less sore and in a smaller area.
It feels like the tendon in the higher part of my ankle running up the inside of the tibia is what is tight and a bit sore.
Again, it does feel like its getting better but still kind of tight. If i do a calf stretch i can feel it stretching that tendon at my inner lower calf and below to just above the ankle.
I have anxiety and read on the internet about calf stretching and unkowingly read an article mentioning blood clots.
I didnt feel this is what it was and now that its less sore i still dont think it is but how would you tell the difference?
I asked friend who is a GP over the phone and he said it didnt fit the description or location of something like that.
He did tell me to stop wearing sandals for a while and wear tennis shoes. He said sandals are hard on the arches and moving something heavy like a bed while wearing them could of assisted in the injury.

Brief Answer:
Possibly pulled muscle/tendon

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for trusting HealthcareMagic,

The symptoms you are experiencing is likely due to the pulled muscle/tendon only and is not indicative of blood clot (Deep vein thrombosis). DVT will be associated with pain, tenderness, swelling, and redness of the affected leg. There will also be a background history of prolonged immobilization like sitting for long hours, surgery etc.

The decreasing pain is a good sign that the injury is healing.

Apply heat therapy on the area of pain and tightness.
Take adequate rest and avoid strenuous activities for next 2 weeks.
You can take Ibuprofen 400 mg up to 3 times a day (after food) to relieve the pain and inflammation.
Use comfortable shoes as your GP mentioned.
You can also apply Bengay ointment on the area of pain

Hope this answers your question
