Does Stone In Urethra Cause Lower Back Pain?

default
Posted on Fri, 6 Oct 2017
Question: Please help! I am in severe pain. I began to hurt in my lower back kidney area yesterday. It continued into the night. I woke at 5am with sudden urge to urinate. I have been urinating seems like every 10 min since. The pain is horrible. I attached a picture of what I have been passing in the pasted 20 min. I am straining urine because I noticed blood on toilet paper. I do not have a menstrual cycle due to hysterectomy. Each time I urinate it brings me to my knees and is only a few drops. But it feels as if my bladder is full. What do you suggest it is or that I do? I have 4 small children so it's difficult to go to emergency room. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much for your reply and your time .

Brief Answer:
Could be due to impacted stone in urethra

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for query .

Based on the facts that you have posted you had severe pain in lower back yesterday and now have severe pain associated with urge to pass urine and few drops of blood in urine .This is mostly due to a stone which earlier was in lower part of ureter and now has passed in bladder and got impacted in urethra giving rise to severe pain and urge to urinate every 10 minutes associated with hematuria .

In a given situation it is hardly any thing that you can do at home .You need to visit Emergency Room at earliest and get Ultrasound Scanning of the abdomen done to find out the site of stone .You may need to get catheterized or undergo endoscopic removal of stone depending upon the findings of Scanning .

Taking antibiotic and pain killers will give temporary relief from pain .

Ensure to drink more water .

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.
