Does Stress Cause Delay In Menstruation?

Question: My wifes periods were due on 28th july. However even though she is experiencing period symptoms like back ache, leg pain, she is not bleeding.. we had had humping twice during the month where she was wearing panties and even i did not ejaculate. Even she has not slept well from last 15 to 20 days. Can stress delay periods... how can we get her periods instantly

Humping without ejaculation cannot lead to a pregnancy.
Yes, stress can delay her periods, and lack of sleep can also lead to irregular periods.
Normally does she have regular cycles ?
You can consult a gynec and get an ultrasound scan of the pelvis done to rule out any abnormality.
Mostly the delay is due to hormonal imbalance because of stress.
Tablets like Meprate 10 mg are taken twice a day for 5 days.
After stopping the tablets, period will come in 2 - 3 days.
But this medication should be taken after consulting your gynec.

She has regular periods with a variance of +/-2 days. This time her complete month was very hectic and she did not have any rest time and she was depreived of sleep. I also wanted to know as to why are you seeking an pelvis examination? Do you find anything unusual?. Her menses are delayed by 3 days so how long should i wait for her periods to come naturally before seeking medical attention. Does thyroid have any role on this?

Her menses are delayed by 3 days so I think you should wait until the 5th of August before seeking medical attention.
I do not find anything unusual, but an ultrasound of the pelvis will tell you the status of the lining of the uterus ( endometrium ).
Based on the thickness, medicine can be given to induce a period.
That is the only reason I recommended a pelvic ultrasound scan, no other major abnormality.
Yes, thyroid hormone imbalance can lead to irregular periods, has she ever had thyroid trouble in the past ?
When was her thyroid level checked ?

Thank you maam for your reply. I checked her thyroid in march. The tsh level was .8. Just to inform you that the back pain leg pain which i referred yesterday related to my wifes period has subsided but she has not bleeded.. i am really worried. Maam if i want to take a pregnancy test can i take it today itself.. will the results be reliable? I know we have not indulged in any activity where the semen must have touched her vagina? Is it possible for the sperm to travel through her panties and enter her vagina

Does she take medication for thyroid, now or in the past ?
Was the urine test negative ?
There is no natural way proven scientifically to induce a period.
ONly medications such as Meprate can be taken as I suggested.

Maam , we took the test yesterday at 7.15 pm and the test turned to be negative. Is it true that the urine samples taken in evening are not reliable? The reason she is afraid as she has never been late on her periods.

In your case there is no need to repeat the test, as I am 100 % sure that there is no pregnancy.
