Does Taking Euflexxa Shots Help In Treating DVT?

default
Posted on Wed, 13 Jul 2016
Question: I've had 3 Dvt's. The last was in 2014 after a testosterone shot and I ended up with a massive bilateral pulmonary embolism. Blood tests revelaed MTHFR and Lupus anticoagulant genes which apparently predispose me to having clots. I'm having problems with arthritis in my knee and the orthopedist suggests having Euflexxa injections. Is there a blood clot risk associated with these injections in susceptible people?
No More PE's for ME!!!!!

Brief Answer:
You can take this injection.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir,

Thank you for posting your query on HCM.

Since the euflexxa injections are given intraarticularly means into the knee itself, it is considered as local injection. So it will not increase the risk of clotting. Infections , minor bleeding although can happen but getting blood clots is very unlikely; so you can go ahead with it.

Take care.
