Brief Answer:
Few possibilities causing penis shortening at your age are as follows

Detailed Answer:
Hi xxxx XXXXXXX
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. The size of the penis decreases by about half an inch after the age of 60 to 70 years. This is a normal occurrence and not something to worry about. As a result the penis can appear shorter and slightly increased in girth.

2. Another possibility is that you might have increased fat deposition in the lower abdomen near the base of penis and this is seen in many men of our age. This can cause an apparent shortening and make the penis appear smaller.

3. The last possibility is that there can be fibrous plaque deposition in the soft tissue of penis called Peyronie's disease. The particular feature of this condition is painful erections and abnormal curvature of penis which leads to shortening.

In conclusion, it is difficult to confirm the possible cause for your shortening of penis without a clinical examination even though age related slight shortening is the most likely cause considering that you do not have other symptoms.

Hope your query is answered.
Please do write back if you have any doubts.
