Question : Hello Dr. My name is XXXXXXX XXXXXXX pregnancy 38 days. Last mesus started on 22nd XXXXXXX I did urine Hcg test and got positive results. Did bhcg quantitative test on 35th day and count is 6371 and took another test on 37th day(yesterday) and count is 7659. Pls advise if results are normal. Also pls advise how much mg of folic acid I need to start with? Thank you.

Hello,

I have gone through your history and understand your concern.Usually beta hcg double in 24-48hrs.i initial months of pregnancy. In your case it is not doubling but it is with in normal limits. Get your pelvic ultrasound for foetal well being at 5weeks of pregnancy . You should take folic acid 5mg tablet once daily.

I have gone through your report and it is showing 5weeks of pregnancy with no cardiac activity.
In these cases we have to repeat the ultrasound after 2 weeks for viability of the foetus.
So no need to worry about it,get your pelvic ultrasound after 2 weeks.
