Does Tingling Pain In My Kidney Area When I Sneeze Along With Discomfort At The Urethra Require Medical Attention?

default
Posted on Mon, 29 Jan 2024
Question: I have a tingling pain in my kidneys when I sneeze. It only lasts a second or two...then goes away. They don’t really give me any discomfort but it’s almost like I can feel my kidneys in my body. If that makes sense? Also, I’ve also experienced some discomfort in a small area of my urethra I’d pressure is applied and sharp pain in that area of the urethra immediately following urination. That last about 2-3 seconds. Any idea what the problem could be and if these symptoms are correlated at all? Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Urinalysis and ultrasound abdomen pelvis

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome,

I appreciate your concern

Based on your description, a urinary tract infection or stone can be a possibility.

A urinalysis and ultrasound of the abdomen and pelvis can be advised to look for a possible cause and treated accordingly. If the investigations are normal then no further workup would be required and reassurance is all that would be needed.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks

Explained

Detailed Answer:
Hello again

Your symptoms suggest a urinary tract cause for which the initial screening investigations can be done. Yes, STDs can also be a possibility. Chlamydia infections can cause urethritis leading to the pain which you described.
