Question : Hi, I had this abscess in my anus region. Used turmeric and coconut oil over the area for a day. Since next day the area where I applied turmeric and coconut oil has thicken and swollen. Unbearable pain also. Pls suggest?

Hello. Thank you for writing to us

I have gone through your question and I have understood it.
Turmeric can be irritating and seems it had made the matters worse for you. Please don't try any home remedies.
I would suggest an Oral antibiotic for a week. A penicillin group of oral antibiotic e.g Augmentin 1000mg ( Amoxicillin+ clavulanate) would be fine. You may take a tablet twice daily for a week.
I would also suggest a painkiller e.g ibuprofen+paracetamol (combiflam ablet) twice daily for symptomatic pain relief.
Topically you may use an antibiotic cream e.g T-Bact (mupirocin) twice daily.
These are all prescription medications and I suggest that you use them under supervision of a doctor.
