Somatropin is a synthetic human growth hormone and is used mainly for conditions as growth hormone deficiency in case of growth failure, intestinal disorder, HIV related symptoms of weight loss and even used to increase height in certain genetic disorders.

Regarding the use in other conditions as liver disease, kidney disease, diabetes etc., the effectiveness has not been established as they can cause severe allergic reaction and are to be taken under the medical supervision if required.
