Brief Answer:
Liver metabolizes 1 drink of alcohol in about an hour

Detailed Answer:
Hello again, it's good to hear from you, thanks for requesting me. That is correct, it generally takes the liver about 1 hour to metabolize and clear one alcoholic drink, which is considered 12 oz of beer, 8 oz of malt liquor, 5 oz of wine, or 1.5 oz of hard liquor. So for example, if you had 4 drinks between 5-6 pm, then your body would be expected to completely clear it by about 9 pm, though I would give it at least another hour after that to be sure before using any sleeping meds. By then you should not feel any effects from the alcohol and it would be safe to use the sleeping meds. This is assuming your liver is healthy without any disease.

I hope that helps, please let me know if you have any questions about any of that, and I would be glad to discuss it with you further.
