Question : Dr. Sharka....it is me again....I do not know if the 30% blocked heart artery is hard or soft plaque....I was referring to other hard plaque in my legs. All they told me was that the medications they gave me would take care of the 30% artery. They also said that there were a couple of small veins in heart that were blocked but that they would not do anything. Does that not mean that the tissue fed by these veins would die over time if they do not get blood?
I only wish to understand all of this....I am optimistic more than before. Since my LDL is so low plus eating right and exercise....I hope my outlook is good over time...I have also begun taking aged garlic which recent double bind tests have shown is good for atherosclerosis. Any comments please?

The small veins branch off the coronary arteries not the heart.

Hello again!
Welcome back on Ask a Doctor service!
I understand your concern and would explain that the medication that you are taking is optimal to help prevent the blockage of the 30% artery and the arteries in your legs.
Regarding the small veins, you should not worry about them, as with the time, the collateral blood circulation will develop (new small arteries which supply blood from the normal arteries) and they will take care of the surrounding myocardial tissues.
This is a chronic physiological process, which helps save the myocardial tissues when some arteries are narrow.
So, the tissues fed by these arteries, will not die, as they will get blood supply from other new collateral arteries.
There is no reason to worry about them.
Just relax and don't worry about them any more.
Everything is going to be OK!
Hope you will find this answer helpful!
If you have any other uncertainties, please don't hesitate to ask me again!
